Why the yowie riding the platypus ?
Sometimes, what is unexplainable or uncertain is easily dismissed as a hoax—much like the platypus once was. When European naturalists first encountered this extraordinary creature in the late 18th century, they met it with widespread disbelief and skepticism. Its bizarre features—a duck-like bill, webbed feet, beaver-like tail, and the unique ability to lay eggs—seemed too fantastical to be real. Upon receiving the first specimen, many British scientists speculated that it was an elaborate hoax, cobbled together from parts of different animals.
The platypus defied the conventional understanding of mammals, challenging established scientific beliefs about the natural world. However, as sightings continued and studies progressed, the existence of the platypus was validated.
